The Ensemble perform Shostakovich’s 8th string quartet in the arrangement by Rudolf Barshai at London’s Cadogan Hall on Wednesday 26 February 2014. The concert also features the Choir of Clare College, Cambridge in ‘Music for the Departed’, including works by Brahms, Beethoven, Tarik O’Regan, Graham Ross, and Samuel Barber.
The Dmitri Ensemble’s continued collaboration Choir of Clare College, Cambridge to record a disc of European works for Christmas, including works from Italy, Germany and Spain, and culminating in a recording of the orchestral version of Schoenberg’s Friede auf Erden. The recording is due for release in late 2014.
The Ensemble’s recording of choral works by Imogen Holst with the Choir of Clare College, Cambridge has been awarded both Diapason d’Or and Le Choix de France Musique awards, and has been shortlisted for a 2013 Gramophone Award.
